What we do

Cannabis Career Training

Our organization facilitates training certifications ranging from Bud-Tenders to Nursery Technicians. We give career access to individuals looking to break into this emerging industry with our expanding range of training.

Community Awareness

We create community awareness campaigns and events centered around educating the public on the opportunities in this new emerging industry. We work to dispel myths and highlight the benefits and facts of Cannabis from both the perspective of health and economic empowerment.

Business Incubator

Smacked Foundation provides a supportive environment for individuals to develop their cannabis-related businesses. Participants will have access to mentorship, workshops, and resources to help them build their businesses. We offer a variety of programs to help individuals start their own businesses. These programs will cover topics such as business development, marketing, and legal compliance.

Our story

Smacked Foundation was established in 2023 with a singular, inspiring mission: to uplift communities impacted by generations of systemic inequality and the war on drugs in America. Our focus is to empower justice-involved individuals and those with limited economic means by providing access and opportunities in the burgeoning cannabis industry.

We wholeheartedly believe that everyone deserves a chance to succeed and that our organization can foster growth and transformation by creating pathways to thriving industries. Our programs provide guidance, support, and education to help individuals realize their full potential and achieve their dreams.

Through our collaborative efforts with Smacked Village, community organizations, and generous donors we have cultivated a diverse and dedicated community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference. Together, we work to break down barriers, inspire change, and promote economic empowerment in the lives of those we serve.

Co-Founder

Roland Conner

Roland Conner, co-founder of Smacked Foundation, is a driven entrepreneur and advocate for justice-impacted individuals. As the owner of Smacked Village, New York State's first conditional adult-use and Black-owned retail cannabis dispensary, Roland has firsthand experience in overcoming adversity. Previously managing a transitional housing facility in the Bronx, he gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by those in similar situations. Roland's passion for creating opportunities and empowering others stems from his own journey, making him dedicated to ensuring that Smacked Foundation paves the way for a brighter, more equitable future.

Co-Founder

Tony Blount

Tony Blount is a co-founder of Smacked Foundation. He is a strategic change agent with a background in political advocacy, non-profit leadership, and aviation. Having witnessed the detrimental effects of systemic inequality and the war on drugs, Tony's passion for driving social change and empowering justice-involved individuals led him to establish Smacked Foundation together with Roland Conner. Drawing from his diverse expertise, Tony is committed to breaking barriers and creating opportunities for those affected by injustice, fostering sustainable careers and promoting economic growth in the cannabis industry.

Co-Founder

Roshan Brown

Roshan Brown is a co-founder of Smacked Foundation. Her dedication in working with underserved communities has developed into a career of over 20 years in not-for-profit organizations from San Francisco to Long Island, NY. In the world of healthcare management, she has provided direct services in communities to people living with mental and behavioral health, and chronic medical conditions improving the overall quality of lives. Following, becoming a Social Work Administrator/Director for the New York State Medicaid Care Management Program, Roshan has been able to share her knowledge, skills, and passion by leading teams of entry level and seasoned social workers through leadership, coaching, and guidance. Her commitment has aided in maintaining that families, children and older adults have a chance at success through local, state and government resources and more importantly through empowerment and self-sufficiency.
